I like the rough illustration where the character's wearing a yellow cape; I think it came out looking better balanced than the actual finished art. Given the position of her grip on her sword sheath, she probably uses a two-sword fighting style. This element was abbreviated in the final work. It's amazing to see what a difference the highlights on her rear make, in terms of drawing the viewer's eyes to them and creating a tension balance. At the end, I remembered that this illustration was supposed to be used in the magazine's Table of Contents, so in the final drawing I made the expression on her face a little flatter and placed the tension above the center line.
